suffered from back pains during my cross country
rounds and found myself getting physically tired at an
event when competing 3 or 4 horses.
We have been concentrating on
strengthening my core stability and have done lots of
fitness training. We have also been working on
improving my balance as this is vital when riding.

When I started
with Calum I was relatively fit and strong. However I did
suffer from back pain and often couldn't carry out my
training.
Calum made me more aware of my core
muscles, improving my flexibility and using the machines for
my aerobic fitness.
As a result I am now able to train fully,
my muscle mass is up and my body fat is down. Calum's energy
and enthusiasm is infectious! I don't know about looking
forward to the sessions but I definitely enjoy them.

After having my
personal training sessions with Calum, I feel fitter, more
supple and have a better diet. The exercises we do in each
workout are core stability, aerobic fitness and stretching
which all relate directly to equestrianism.
Calum has great understanding and
knowledge of what an equestrian rider needs to do to improve
their fitness and balance. Combined with his enthusiasm he
makes fitness fun.
As the 2007 season approaches, having had
regular training sessions, I am better prepared for all
three disciplines that the sport of Eventing requires.

Since training with Calum, I feel much fitter, stronger, healthier, and happier I have more energy and my balance is improving all the time, which is making a difference in my riding.

Calum has been
thorough, professional and enthusiastic in all aspects of the
physical training that he has undertaken with me. His
understanding of what we, as riders need is very good and his
attitude to the necessary work is infectious.

I first went to see Calum after I had had nearly a year off any form of exercise due to my back operation. I was hoping to get back to riding my horse, and other general activities. My chiropractor suggested that I had some form of muscle rehabilitation with massage! I had noticed on a local notice board Calum's card. So I thought why not, he was local.
After one phone call an appointment was made. After a very thorough 1st appointment, he started to work on my back.

Calum was brilliant, as I had no idea what to expect! He talked to me through everything that he was doing, why he was doing it, and what to expect afterwards. Everything was explained and every opportunity was given to ask questions. In fact he made me totally at ease.
Simple exercises were given to me to do at home, and I was asked to let him know how I felt the next day.
There is a saying, "no gain without pain"! But the next day
I felt a great relief, more level and better movement, and the pain had diminished substantially, including a recurring headache.
This improvement continued over the following weeks, and we are a at a stage where Calum is starting me on a fitness regime, tailor made to suit my requirements, as well as continuing with the occasional massage therapy.
I would have not have believed that any of this was possible a year ago. Calum is extremely forward thinking, positive and supportive, enthusiastic (when I say I can do this!) thorough, and I am reaping the benefits this wonderful service. it is a total service, not just a bit here and there, and what is so good is it is made especially for my abilities and requirements. Calum has thought about every aspect. I would have no hesitation in recommending him to anyone, even if you had injuries in the past, this guy will sort it out, with you.

I started going to Calum because I was going abroad on holiday for the first time ever! I did not know if it was the best idea because Calum was quite young compared with my 42 years and I did not want to feel patronised. To my relief Calum was very professional and it seemed age or size was no problem for him.
I am so glad I took the plunge and trusted Calum. I have become much fitter and I have lost an amazing 8 1/2 inches.

There are times when I wanted to quit but Calum has a way of encouraging without bullying and has an amazing insight into people's characters, which gives him a greater knowledge of how to help and encourage.
I would recommend Calum to anybody thinking of changing their lives through fitness.

"And I'm never running and I certainly don't do sweating"! Those were my exact words to Calum 3 months ago when I started my personal fitness program. My name is Jo and I'm a forty something mum and housewife. The last structured exercise I took part in was 25 years ago at school.
Earlier this year I discovered my blood pressure was a little high and I was generally fairly stressed. I had heard about Calum
from a friend and gave him a call.

can still remember how apprehensive I felt driving to the gym
that first morning! How wrong could I be! Calum is totally professional, the exercises, weights and cardiovascular work are constantly changing so its never boring; his motivational skills are second to none and I'm having the best fun
I've had in ages. My whole outlook on life has changed and not just towards exercise.

As a sedentary middle aged male with vanity coupled with high blood pressure and an overly bulging waist-line decided to ask Calum to re-invent me as a younger middle aged male!
Having been at a high state of fitness when I was 18 I believed I would have no problems with whatever would be thrown at me.

2 words describe how training with Calum is Fun and Hard-work with his imaginitive ideas and ever varying programs
he has managed to keep me challenged and entertained.
My blood pressure is now 123/83 and I have lost a brilliant 5 1/2 inches! Without Calum I would never have the motivation or dedication to do it!
Now the stresses of owning and running companies is a far easier prospect as I'm able to think more clearly and be more positive about important decisions that need to be made.
Go on give it a go, Calum is able to help everyone and anyone - He's
good!!

While being friendly and easy going, Calum is an extremely knowledgeable and professional individual, with attitude and standards well beyond his age.
He is able to motivate and inspire you to achieve attainable goals. I would recommend him and the gym at Westfield to anyone regardless of age, shape or fitness level.

I can unequivocally recommend Calum as a personal trainer. I actually look forward to my sessions with him, which I never thought I would say for any training session.
As well as being extremely professional he is tremendously encouraging and he is good company. The result is that I am performing at a much higher level than I would have expected
